Carbon Rod Cutter

Carbon rods are a little tricky to cut because a regular cutter smooshes the end and splits the fibers apart leaving the cut end frazzled and annoying to work with. This cutter on the other hand, squeezes the fibers together as it shears them so they don't split up and the cut end is cleaner and much easier to work with.

This picture (click for larger) shows clean end cut with the Carbon Rod Cutter compared to a regular cutter.
Rods .040" and smaller can be simply snapped apart by hand, but for larger sizes you need some extra help.

The curved shear jaws "in action". The cutter easly cuts all rods up to .098". The .118" and .125" require a bit of determined pressure, but this is rewarded by a nice clean slice that's much quicker and less dusty that all other methods.
